Behavioural Change Management - Behaviours for Success
Behavioural Change Management: Unlike traditional 'change management' interventions that focus primarily on 'new processes and systems', The Chalfont Project focuses on people and behaviours to generate more expedient and lasting change.
|
Our position:
The only real change is Behavioural Change. There is no change within a so-called change programme if there are no visible changes in behaviours.
A change in processes and systems to 'a new way of going from A to B' is a given, the baseline. It is only when people behave differently that real change can be defined. It has been said that insanity is to carry on doing the same things in the same old way and expecting new results. But another form of insanity is to map new processes and new systems and expect that people will adapt to them by simple persuasion. Behavioural change goes well beyond training and communication and it will ensure that people will do things in the new desired way and that the change will be sustainable. | |
Behaviours for Success is a consulting programme that delivers effective and sustainable change, whilst at the same time enabling the client to lead the process themselves in future situations. We help you to implement a change in strategy, structures, systems and/or processes and then create conditions for sustained change by focusing on employee behaviours.
Only Behavioural change is real change. Mastering Behavioural change in your organisational environment has become a key managerial and leadership competence. A new behavioural focus is needed to improve the way organisations work, from senior management to R&D teams, from sales teams and field force to individuals. We use this fundamental focus, plus a proprietary methodology to create the conditions for sustainable change in mindset and behaviours (as well as processes and structures). We then help to promote or extinguish existing or new behaviours, using a practical plan that distinguishes between incentives, rewards and reinforcements and goes well beyond monetary systems.
Our programmes or projects in this area will help you in the following practical ways:
- Plan and implement an effective change strategy that encompasses the systems, processes, strategy, vision and uniquely the people as well
- Increase your chance of successfully implementing changes in your company
- Reduce the learning curve and time for roll-out for any new system, process or technology
- Dramatically improve return on investment for new systems
- Take staff buy-in beyond rational understanding towards an emotional and sustainable behavioural change which will produce more efficient outcomes and will generate more satisfied employees
- Remove certain behaviours, habits or attitudes that are limiting your organisational potential
- Actively promote certain existing or non-existing behaviours, habits or attitudes that work to generate success
How do we do this? Our unique cognitive-behavioural change methodologies start with an in-depth analysis of your organisation, its leaders, employees, processes and technology to create a bespoke plan tailored to your organisation only. We use extensively researched methods, plus an analysis of your existing employee data if available, to:
- Define and analyze your success criteria in terms of specific actions/behaviours required
- 'Discover' and analyze existing behaviours in the organisation, sometimes hidden behind processes and systems
- Determine which behaviours are 'blocking' and which ones are 'reinforcing' success
- Create new potential behaviours that will lead to success faster (and sustain those behaviours over time)
- Analyze and give you practical ways to improve or change the existing incentive schemes, reward and recognition systems, motivational processes, promotions, and other factors contributing to behaviours and habit. In our experience, 9 out of 10 reward and recognition systems are not behavioural-based or have a poor or even wrong application of behavioural sciences
- Create organisational 'tipping points' where new behaviours are spread and reinforced fast
